What's up in Core?

June 8, 2017

Dear Students,

It's hard to believe that tomorrow is the final day of sixth grade Core. We have worked hard and learned a lot together - and not just about writing, reading, and ancient civilizations. We've also learned a lot about ourselves and each other. You learned how to be organized, how to ask good questions, how to study, and how to write. I learned how to use the block periods, keep my lessons "mini," and listen more. You did your best to learn, and I did my best to be the teacher each one of you needed. As I say goodbye, I know you are all ready for whatever adventures and challenges await you. I wish all of you a rewarding journey. To quote Bob Dylan (a poet of the not-so-ancient past):

May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you

May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
And may you stay
Forever young

Wishing you a wonderful summer and beyond,

Ms. Waterman
