Bulldog Sports is sponsored and administered by the OUSD. Our after school sports program provides all OIS students an equal opportunity to learn, to play and to enjoy a variety of exciting team and individual sports. Through meaningful training and positive interactions, our ultimate goal is to get ALL of our athletes to 'learn and play UNITED!'
PRACTICE RITUAL: Practice sessions start right after school and last 90 minutes. Most teams meet Monday through Thursday except for our 6th-grade team sports, and our specialty sports which meet twice a week. Students are encouraged to take part in all scheduled practices, contests, and all team functions.
LEAGUE PLAY: Our traditional sports teams compete against other middle schools in the East Bay. Both home and away games will be scheduled. For away games, parents will be asked to assist with carpooling.
ADMINISTRATION: Michael Agers, Physical Education teacher at OIS, will manage the program as Athletic Director. Dianna Langer will assist with administrative aspects of the program as Administrative Coordinator. Our administrative team will continue to strive for program excellence and 100% player and parent satisfaction!
COACHES: It is our goal, desire and mission to hire a high caliber of coaches who are mature, knowledgeable, and experienced. We will strive to put together a top-notch cadre of adult coaches who possess the desired qualities and characteristics to ensure the program’s success.
PARENTS: Parent participation and assistance is pivotal in our program's success. Parents are encouraged (although not required) to get involved, attend games, and take an active role in their child's after school sports experience.
