About the Bulldog Kennel

Bulldog KennelThe Bulldog Kennel is the OIS food service operation. It is open five days a week for brunch and lunch. The Kennel provides our students with healthy, nutritious, and tasteful food choices at reasonable prices. The Kennel is staffed by parent volunteers and is overseen by our Kennel Director, Shannan Tagg. All profits from Kennel operations go to the OIS Parents' Club.

Pre-Order Lunch Program
The Kennel offers a pre-order lunch program for the first half (Session I) and the second half (Session II) of the school year. Pre-orders are a convenient way to ensure that a student receives a complete lunch on a specific day of the week. Pre-orders include an entrée, drink, and a serving of fruit. The entrées are obtained from local restaurants. See Pre-Order Lunch Program for detailed lunch options and ordering information. Please note: you may switch entrée choices once only. Deadline for cancellations is four weeks after the session begins.

Daily Menu
With healthy offerings that have been kid and parent tested, the Kennel and the self-service Bow Wow Chow, feature a diverse and changing menu. For brunch, the Kennel and the Bow Wow Chow offer a wide selection of drinks, baked goods, fresh fruit, snacks and cereals. During lunch, there are also a variety of salads, hot dogs, sandwiches, hot entrées, and frozen treats. Daily Menu items may be purchased using your pre-paid MealTime debit account or cash. For a partial listing of items offered, go to our Daily Menu
With the MealTime Point of Sale (POS) System, students are able to purchase Daily Menu items with a pre-paid debit account by entering their student ID number on a numeric pad. To learn more about it and to set up your student’s account, go to MealTime POS System.

Volunteering in the Kennel
The Kennel relies on parent volunteers to serve the hundreds of students at OIS during brunch and lunch. It's fun and energetic volunteer work that enables parents to interact directly with the students and other parents. Most shifts are once a month. Please email Pamela Larry, Volunteer Coordinator if you would like to join a team or volunteer as a substitute. For immediate response contact the Food Service Director, stagg@orinda.k12.ca.us

Visit the Volunteer Information page for more information.

Kennel Contacts
A committee made up of an employee director and parent volunteers oversee the Kennel operations. See Kennel Contacts to view their titles and contact information for questions or suggestions.
