Promotion Info

OIS Parents graciously host a party following the promotion ceremony for 8th-grade students. The Multi-Purpose Room is transformed into a party palace! Food, dancing and fun surprises make the promotions party something to remember. The party begins immediately following the ceremony and ends at 10 pm. All 8th-grade students planning to attend the party must register and purchase a ticket in advance.

Ceremony Invitations

OISPC-Sponsor-Logo.jpg The OIS Parents’ Club proudly sponsors the 8th Grade Promotions Ceremony (there is no cost to participate in the ceremony) and provides electronic ceremony invitations sent in early May to the event. There is no limit to how many people can attend the ceremony, and no RSVP is required. Parents will be e-mailed a Promotions Ceremony invitation through a Constant Contact which can be forwarded to friends and family.

Dress Code

Students are expected to wear appropriate attire to the ceremony and party. Casual dress wear is suggested.

For boys: a sports coat and tie is recommended, along with a collared shirt, belted slacks (i.e. Dockers) and clean, closed-toed shoes. Parents are also welcome to take their boys’ coats and ties before they enter the MPR.

For girls: dresses,
skirts and blouses or pantsuits are recommended. NO strapless, tube tops, or halter tops, bare midriffs or micro minis will be allowed. Spaghetti straps are okay for this event. Girls may want to bring flats or flip flops to change into and bike shorts under
dresses. Comfortable, medium-to-low-heeled shoes are encouraged.

There will be a coat check at the party to keep track of jackets, shoes, etc.
