Welcome to Common Core 6/7 & 7/8 Math!

08/09/19

Course Description

These courses are accelerated.  In Common Core 6/7, we’ll be doing all of 6th grade and the first half of 7th grade in one year in preparation for students to take CC 7/8 in 2020-21. Our texts will be CPM Core Connections Course 1 and 2.  (6thand 7thgrade math respectively)

In 7/8, we’ll be doing the second half of 7th and of 8th grade math in one year in preparation for students to take Common Core Algebra in 2020-21. Our texts will be CPM Core Connections Course 2 (7th grade math) and Course 3 (8th grade math).

In addition to being accelerated, the course can also be considered an “honors” class, with challenges (or "stretch" problems) offered frequently. I do not expect every student to be able to solve every problem assigned.

Genuinely curious about and interested in math,

Motivated and resourceful,
