Jan. 24, 2022

Dear Students,

I hope you were able to spend time outdoors and enjoy the sunny weather this weekend.

You can order from TAB or Arrow book clubs online at scholastic.com/bookclubs using class code HP49C. Or you can return the order form with a check payable to Scholastic Book Clubs by Wed., Jan. 26

If you are absent, check School Loop and Google Classroom to find out what assignments we're working on this week. Here's a summary:

  1. Reading: Read your nonfiction book daily - both in class and at home. This week you will begin reading Newsela articles about one of your top nonfiction topic choices.
  2. Writing: The FINAL Nile Mini-Q essay was due Friday, Jan. 21. This week you will learn three different note-taking methods, which you will practice using to take notes as you read the articles in your group's Newsela text set.
  3. History: Finish analyzing the primary source "The Satire on the Trades," and turn in your History Folder. We will begin studying the Geography and early settlement of India this week.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Sincerely,

Ms. Alison Waterman
